Happy Spring - maybe it’s the real one this time. My snow tires are off, so I am done-done! I am looking forward to meeting with our newest club members at an upcoming “new member gathering”. Our newest members bring such an interesting and varied wealth of background and interests which rounds our club membership out nicely. Our club is an anomaly in the district in that it is strong, vibrant and membership is steadily increasing in a time when U.S. clubs as a whole are losing membership. Well done, all!

few of our women Rotarian members are exploring formation of a women’s group - not as a Rotary satellite club or Rotary initiative, but a way for the women of our community to gather to socialize and consider service-oriented projects that they may like to do. That meeting is Thursday 5/21 at Afterthoughts 5pm - 6:30pm and any interested women are invited. Contact Kira if you are interested so she may add you to the list.

As summer slowly works its way back to us, we turn our attention to upcoming events that include the Warren 4th of July Parade (all hands on deck!), being a docent/greeter at the VonTrapp Garden Days, and Duck Race. In between those anchor projects will be smaller opportunities to provide service, such as building stairs and upgrading spaces at Neck of the Woods childcare, food pantry deliveries, and other opportunities as they arise in the short term.

At the May 13 meeting we will hold a club assembly to vote on the slate of club officers, foundation officers and a bylaws change related to the maximum grant amounts that can be approved by the board without a club vote. You will receive 2 emailed reminders in advance of the meeting with an opportunity to provide your proxy vote to a member who will be present in the event you are away.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions, suggestions or ideas!
