Meet Dave Ellison
I grew up in Los Angeles and went to college in the California Bay area. Work took me to Houston and then to the New York city area. I became a skier, which ultimately led me to Vermont and the Mad River Valley.
When I retired, I was going to move to a ski area. We had been skiing at Sugarbush for a number of years as a member of a ski house and liked the skiing and the area.
I am an out-door person and spend much of my free time involved with physical activity. These days, I ski and play golf as primary activities. I hope to play more tennis soon. I also am a reader and enjoy travelling.
I worked as a Controller for Exxon (now ExxonMobil), so I have a solid background in financial business matters. I served as treasurer for the Rotary club for15 years.
I joined Rotary after retiring to the Valley as it had a reputation for public service. I try to join in many of the club activities that are important to the community. I enjoy hearing from valley residents about the good that Rotary does for the community.
My wife Janet and I enjoy travelling. This tends to be a May/October activity as I try to ski most days after the mountain opens for sking in November. We often go on cruises or guided programs (such as Roads Scholar), but will do road trips as well.
