Scholarships

The MRV Rotary Club offers multiple one-year scholarships to assist local graduating high school students with the cost of higher education and technical training. Available scholarships in 2026 include:

  • The Harwood International Distinguished Scholarship ($10,000) for a graduating Harwood senior based on both academic merit and demonstrated financial need. Applicants should obtain a recommendation from the Harwood Guidance Office. In addition to completing this online application, applicants for this award should also contact the Harwood Guidance Office regarding submission of their FAFSA Student Aid Report. 

For the below service scholarships, applicants must be a student at Harwood Union High School, Green Mountain Valley School or a Vermont CTE center graduating in the spring, or attend another high school and reside in Duxbury, Fayston, Moretown, Waitsfield or Warren. Applicants must have maintained a GPA of B (3.0) or better during high school and have demonstrated a commitment to community service.

  • The Thorsen/Brightenback Scholarship ($5,000)
  • International Merit Scholarships (4) ($2500)
  • The Bob Holden Memorial Scholarship ($2,500)
  • Trade scholarship ($1500) to support students entering a trade 
  • “Tools of the Trade” grant ($500)
