Dear Fellow MRV Rotarians,
I hope you’ve all had a chance to enjoy the beautiful fall foliage that the Mad River Valley has offered this season coupled with beautiful weather. As the days grow shorter and a chill fills the air, it's a sure sign of time our breakfast meetings will return to the Village Meeting House. Please join us for a warm breakfast, inspiring speakers, and fantastic company!
As many of you know, this summer’s fundraising events, including the Duck Race and the von Trapp Garden Tours, were a huge success. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who volunteered and contributed. The funds raised will go directly back into our community to support important causes.

But I must say, after a very busy summer of fundraising and service projects it was nice to take a breather. Oh but wait! Whoops! Nope not true. We have been very busy!
Our club has stayed active with several key initiatives. We assisted with the Skatium teardown to pave the way for a temporary rink and future improvements to the facility. Alongside Harwood students, we supported a volunteer day at Neck of the Woods (NOW) to clean out storage barns, filling two dumpsters! Outpour '24, despite some rainy weather, raised over $9K for Vermont flood relief. The list goes on!
We recently had visitors here from New Zealand via the Rotary Friendship Exchange. It was wonderful to meet them and spend time learning about their home at the social which was so kindly hosted by Emily Shea. A big shout out to Dave Ellison for leading this effort and for each host family that so kindly shared their homes with our guests.
Looking ahead, we have more opportunities for service coming up, including Rise Against Hunger and helping with Camp Ta-Kum-Ta’s cubby and ice rink setup. Please consider lending a hand in these important club efforts.
And of course, it's time to kick off our Annual Restaurant Raffle! This is a major fundraiser for our club and the nonprofits we support. If you can assist by soliciting restaurant gift cards or selling raffle tickets, your help would be so greatly appreciated. Volunteers are essential to make this event another great success.
Thank you all for your dedication and for making our club the mighty force that it is!
Best regards,
Mike
