As we head toward the darker days of the early winter season, we are grateful for the recent rains that have refilled our ponds, our wells, and our rivers. The colder weather brings a promise of snow-filled slopes and trails. While we wait out “stick season”, our thoughts turn toward our next projects, including setting up the ice rink at Camp Tak-um-ta in Grand Isle. Dave Koepel and his merry band set up the rink in November and take it down in April. This rink is used by campers and families who utilize the camp. For those not familiar with the work of Camp Tak-um-ta, I encourage you to learn more about it HERE. It’s a camp for kids with cancer and their families to enjoy a safe and welcoming respite in summer and winter – at no cost. Last year we built dozens of storage cubbies for the cabins and we appreciate the opportunities for service work there.
The annual Restaurant raffle has kicked off. I am selling tickets on 11/15, wanna join me? Sign up for a 2 hour shift here. Pair up with someone you don’t really know and spend that time getting to know each other! Tom Emory and his team do the heavy lifting here, and I want to be sure they are properly thanked for that.
Reminder that businesses can now be members of the club, and if you would like me to reach out to someone you may have spoken to, please let me know! Thank you, and please remember to MAKE THE ASK (invite folks to a breakfast or dinner meeting!).
Here’s a shout out to Mike Curtin – we miss you and all look forward to when you can join us again. To Mike Bridgewater - we love you.
