Meet Your Fellow Rotarians section has moved to "Stories".
I am really looking forward to continuing this new section of the Newsletter as it will hopefully provide an opportunity for each of us to connect even a bit more with each other. If you receive an email from me asking for info for the section, please know that you are welcome to share whatever you wish.
Volunteer opportunities
The annual Warren 4th of July Parade is coming up! There are plenty of opportunities to volunteer and be a part of the sure-to-be quirky festivities. From selling specially designed T-shirts, to selling Buddy Badges, to installing signage and more, please either contact Mike Curtin or Ben Olds to offer your services.
In addition, you can always sign up to help with Community Pantry deliveries, thank you Doug Stoehr, or if you would like to be a Greeter, click on the following link https://mrvrotary.org/1451/Page/Show?ClassCode=Page&Slug=members-only. Being a greeter is a fabulous way to say hello to folks you have not seen in a while and if you are new to MRV Rotary, a wonderful way to get acquainted. So many ways to get involved!
A new Publicity Campaign has launched with the leadership of Kira Bacon. For those of you who use social media, Instagram or Facebook, I suggest you be sure to follow MRV Rotary and check it out. Each week will highlight Rotarians or beneficiaries of Rotary grants doing what they love to do. We know we all give of our time to Rotary but what else do we do? Be sure to follow this Campaign!
I grew up outside of Philadelphia, attended Denson University and married George Barnes from Syracuse, NY in 1962.
We lived for 30 years on a small farm in Chester County, PA and raised three children there.
In those years, I earned a MA in English and Classical Literature at Villanova and an MS in Education and Psychology from UPenn.
During that time, I also trained at Child Guidance in Philadelphia, was a family therapist, a psychologist at Benchmark School and started an educational consulting firm.
June already? Time flies! It seems like last week I was writing my first ever President’s Letter and now I am writing my last.
As my term as president comes to a close, I want to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt thanks to each of you for the support, energy, and fellowship you’ve shared over the past year.
"Meet your Fellow Rotarian", Bonnie Barnes has been a committed MRV Rotary member for 5 years. Read all about Bonnie in the story above.
George Dorsey, owner of the Pitcher Inn, was our presenter at a recent breakfast meeting held there. He presented information about the joys and challenges of Inn ownership in today's world. After the meeting he offered tours of some of the Inn's spectacular guest rooms and yours truly could not resist. All I can say is WOW!
Thank you again for each and every effort you all make. A recent email I received from the Rotary District closed with these words, "As we transition from this Rotary year to the next, let's focus on the opportunity to balance continuity and change. Together, let's move our organization forward as we share the Magic of Rotary and Unite for Good."
