Good day all! Happy almost December! I hope your Thanksgiving was full of friends and family and all that you are grateful for. I am certainly feeling quite fortunate to be able to call this beautiful and special Valley home. Now onto the next series of busy holidays - Hannukah, Solstice, Christmas and New Years - but please take time to enjoy the dance of falling snowflakes, the moon light as it peaks from behind a cloud or perhaps a quiet ski. The wonders surrounding us are plentiful.
Speaking of wonders….. Thank you to all who have been selling Restaurant Raffle tickets outside of Mehurons and to those who have signed up to sell. To date, almost $5,200 of tickets has been sold during in-person sales! And new this year, we have purchased snazzy beanies that sport the MRV Rotary logo to keep your noggin warm while you sell. Mike Curtain is arranging distribution of them and if you have signed up to sell, he will personally deliver it to you on your sales day. How is that for service! Thank you to member Rob Perry for rushing production of the hats with his business, “Shirt Happens”. Also we are grateful to Emily Shea for the leadership of this important fund raiser. If you have not signed up to sell and want to get in on the fun and the beanies, click on the following link;
Then click on Restaurant Raffle sales sign up. It’s easy peasy and there are open slots. In addition, each member has received a link to RallyUP which will allow you to send an email to your contacts with your personal link.
In addition, from the same link you can sign up to help deliver food to the Community Pantry or be a Greeter at an upcoming meeting. No shortage of ways to get involved!
A handful of Rotarians visited Camp Te Kum ta recently and built the ice rink as many of them so generously do annually. Thank you for your generosity gang. A few photos are below.
In addition, I have included a few photos of the Scotish Rotary exchange visitors and hosts. Thank you, Dave Ellison and his wife, Janet, for arranging this! The guests and a few Rotarians even spent a day in Montpelier at the Capitol and got to meet Governor Scott! Wow! Photos are below.
Stay tuned for more info on our annual Holiday Party on Wednesday, December 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the space above Valley Meade at the intersection of Rts. 17 and 100. BYOB.
