MRV Rotary Newsletter
March,  2024

Good Morning, all! Last month in this space I was begging all readers to do your snow dances. Well Thanks to all of you who cha cha'd, rumba'd, twisted and maybe even waltzed your best waltz,  here we are enjoying the March miracle!  Mountains are once again covered by a sweet blanket of white (brown has never been my color 😉) and winter winds are shifting that feather-light powder to where it should be. Sadly, this is all just a week late for my family who were here last week from far corners of the country and got to enjoy some of the best man made snow Sugarbush could offer along with a good dose of the other 4 letter word that shall remain unspoken. But alas all was not lost. A few of us engaged in glass fusing, a bit of retail therapy and some highly competitive card games not to mention a trip or two to Lawson's.  😄

Now onto business.......

The next few regular Rotary meetings are scheduled as follows:

March 13, regular breakfast meeting at the Waitsfield UCC Meeting House at 7 a.m.
Meetings on Wednesday March 20 and April 17 that would typically be dinner meetings will be lunch meetings starting at 11:15 at Lawson's Finest Liquids. Lunch will follow the business meeting and speaker. Please note this on your calendars.
March 20 is a regular breakfast meeting at the Waitsfield UCC Meeting House at 7 a.m.

Please save the date for our annual Person of the Year Dinner to be held at the Pitcher Inn on May 15, at 5:30 p.m. The Board has selected Joshua Schwartz for the POY.  Josh is retiring from his position as the Executive Director of the Mad River Valley Planning District.

Many thanks to Karen Winchell for her hard work scheduling speakers. If you have an idea for a speaker or a connection that can help Karen, please reach out to her.

If you are looking for a way to volunteer your time, from this link https://www.mrvrotary.org/page/members-only  you can sign up to help deliver food to the Community Pantry, thank you Doug Stoehr, or be a Greeter at an upcoming meeting. No shortage of ways to get involved!

In addition, Bonnie Barnes and Tom Emory are kicking off the annual sponsor drive. If you can help Bonnie and Tom with signing up sponsors, they would be grateful. Just reach out to either of them.
