Here we are again. One more trip around the sun and it's time for the Ducks to Race not to mention wrap up the von Trapp Garden Days - which by the way has been once again a resounding success! As this newsletter goes to press, 1100 people have toured the gardens and this weekend will be the last for this year! Stay tuned for the final numbers on that fund raiser thanks to the generosity of Sally and Toby von Trapp. So many folks have been busy with a plethora of events - all of which make this beautiful, special Valley we call home a better place to live, work and play. You can read below all about what we all have done over the past few months in Mike Curtin's President's words.
I am going to try and make this Newsletter brief as I suspect I will be sending out another after the upcoming Duck Race and the Outpour event.
But first let me give a shout out to our newest Rotarians: Doug Reid (who many of you know from work at Neck of the Woods), Jeff Friedman (who I know worked at the Fourth of July Parade) and Alexandra Harvey (most recently joined.) Welcome to you all! I see Official badges, T-shirts and an intro speech in your near future. 😉
Grants Approved
At the recent general meeting, membership voted to approve a $10,000 grant for Knoll Farm. With those funds, Knoll Farm will renovate specifically the Council Room in the historic barn as part of a larger barn renovation. Thank you, Roger Porter, for your work on these grants.
Volunteer opportunities
MRV Rotary has partnered with Sugarbush and Lawson's Finest Liquids to manage a benefit for the
Vermont Flood Response and Recovery Fund. It will be a day of food, drink and live music! Rotarians have signed up to help out in a number of ways. There might still be slots to sign up as back up. CLICK THE FOLLOWING FOR INFO ON

You will soon be seeing more news about the annual Rise Against Hunger food packaging event and how you can help with that but in the meantime, please note that date of Saturday, November 16 on your calendars. It will once again be held at Harwood Union High school. Thank you Pete Colgan for once again taking a lead on this.
