Happy May Rotarians! I know that I might be jumping the gun a bit but soon the Farmer's Market will begin! The early spring wildflowers are beginning to show their eye-catching. delicate beauty in the local woodlands and that for me is a sure sign of changes ahead.
Another sign for sure is the plethora of activities that many Rotarians are undertaking. For example, Dave Koepele recently charmed a volunteer group into taking the semi annual road trip to Camp Ta-Kum-Ta for the disassembling of the ice rink boundaries. Lending a hand and caught on camera (below) were Al Barillo, Doug Stoehr, Roger Porter, Karl Kline, Damon Reed and Mike Bridgewater.
Ben Olds has been very busy leading the charge of organizing the
Rise Against Hunger event to be held at Harwood Union High School on Saturday May 21 from 10 a.m. - noon. You can volunteer for this event and read more about it on the MRV Rotary home page, by clicking
here, or reading below.
Rosemarie White has committed time and energy to ensure that our local Rotary supports the Rotary Youth Leadership Award program. You can learn more about this exciting program in the Stories below.
Rosemarie is a committed liaison for Rotary and Harwood Union High School. In addition to the RYLA program, she recently sent an email out to all Rotarians asking for volunteers to help with mock interviews. Please check your email inbox for that email and if you think you might be able to help on Wednesday, May 18th, (in two sessions; 9:00-10:40 or 10:45-12:20) please contact Rosemarie.
Bonnie Barnes has been doing a fabulous job taking over the Sponsorship program from alumni Gordon Hoare. Assisting Bonnie is Jane Macan, Tom Emory and Carl Cundiff.
Believe it or not, it will be time soon to begin the work surrounding the Duck Race Raffle and Kim Olds has begun to learn the ropes from Doug Stoehr. Rumor has it that Karl Klein and Rob Perry are also helping with this. Stay tuned for more info on this soon.
Speaking of Rob Perry, a great big Thank you to him for taking on our much-needed Web Master position!
On Saturday, May 14 at 9:30 a.m. Moie Moulton, Executive Director of Neck of the Woods will lead a tour of the childcare facility for Rotarians and Sponsors.
