Wow, thank you all for the kind words of both encouragement and congratulations! Our changeover dinner was a lovely evening for Karl and me, and your thoughtful words mean a lot. We are blessed to have such a caring and forward-thinking membership and with the handing off of the gavel from Mike Curtin to me, I intend to continue the momentum he has started. But as we all know, it’s not a one-person job. It takes all of us doing just a little to accomplish a lot.
Regarding our membership growth plans, if every member brought in just one other person, our membership would double – and while math is not my strong point, even I can do that one in my head! Set that goal for yourself – don’t be afraid of making the ask. Our club, through redoubled social media and public relations efforts, is being seen and noticed. People naturally want to belong to a vibrant and healthy organization – so now is the time to invite someone to an upcoming club meeting. Remember to remind folks there are no attendance requirements.
A special shout out to Ben Olds for making it possible for me to even consider being Rotary president. As the “Warren 4th of July Parade” wrangler, he and his posse of parade elves have done a fantastic job. Thank you to all who are working on the event and supporting Ben and the club in this way.
Remember, we have a dinner meeting this month on July 16 at Sugarbush Resort (Rumbles). It will be nice to get back there for a meeting!
Contact me any time, preferably by email or text, if you have any questions or want to chat about things on your mind.
Thank you!
